Snowcrest Ski Center Trip
tba

Another exciting event will be our fourth annual trip to Snowcrest Ski Center. If you have never been to Snowcrest, you owe it to yourself to go. We go up and have a great time. This year we will be going to Snowcrest on Saturday, * tba *. We will leave West Lafayette from the Wal-Mart parking lot at 9:00 AM. We will meet in the Northeast corner of the parking lot near Christina & Company. It takes about 2 hours to get to Snowcrest and we are usually there for 2 or 3 hours. During that time, you can shop for all things ski and snowboard related. Get coats, pants, hats, socks, base layers, or gloves to keep you warm. You can get skis, boots, bindings, and boards so you will have the gear that is just right for you. We will all go for some deep dish pizza or something good on the way home. Snowcrest is a member of America’s Best Bootfitters so you can get a great fit. They also have the latest and greatest in skis and snowboards. Many items from last year are still on sale at greatly reduced rates. They also have an indoor snow/ski deck that you can board and ski on. They don’t charge us anything to use the deck and demonstrate it to us. If you have never been on the deck before, you will be amazed how quickly they can improve your skiing and identify problems in your stance, alignment, or technique. New for this year, the shop is going to have a short clinic just for us on ski tuning. If you have ever wanted to learn anything about waxing or tuning your own skis, you MUST attend this event. Even if you don’t want to tune your own skis, it is good to learn so you know when it is time for a new tune or to get a hot wax on the bases. You will learn about how modern skis are made and how they need to be taken care of to best protect your investment. Don’t miss this event. Please, email me or call me if you plan to go and also let me know if you are available to drive. Support the LSSC and get ready for winter!

Cross Training

Stay in shape during the warmer months.  The Wabash River Runner's Club is not just for racers!  They welcome all levels of runners and walkers; check their web site for various meeting points.  It is a fun group and they even 'tolerate' my 'blading on Sunday mornings at the Seattle Beanery.

Any season!  Are you willing to host an activity?  Some of the club's past activities are listed below.  The list is NOT all-inclusive, let us know about any activity you feel club members may be interested.  We'll publish the info here and spread the word to other members.
